The movie American History X is based in the problem of racism. The family of the protagonist supports the strong discrimination towards the blacksociety. Following the example of Nazism and heavily influenced by the ideals of Hitler these american teenagers persecute and hurt black people. They organise aband in which the one and only objective is to end with the part of the american society that does not belong to their same race. According to these AmericanNazis, black people should not exist and even less be allowed to appear in The United States of America.
American History X shows a lack of values.Important values like freedom, justice or equality. Freedom is a necessary factor that every human being should have in their lifes .The right of freedom meansto live as one wishes, without being judged for their race, sexuality or religion. A free life is a world in which every individual is governed under thesame laws and there is no privileges or handicaps between humans. The problem of racism brings into play the values of equality, respect and justice. Allthese are vital values to have a good balance in a civil society. We could say that race has no value at all because the only real effect that has is thatmakes the human being physically different. The differences of skin color does not mean anything futher than that. Its only what we can see from the exteriorof a person. It does not have anything to be with having different rights and duties in life. We are all exactly equal, regardless of our appearances.
