Checking logs from Apache2 and IIS
this activity is pretty simple, dueto the low complexity of installing the web server in both of the virtual machines. The first thing that I had to do is configure the IP adress in each VM, because is easier to manage the connectionsonce the IP adress is set to static. Once the IP is set to static, the next thing to do is to turn on or install the web server in each VM; is easier to install the web server in the Linux OS becauseall you need is to write a simple line of code "apt-get install apache2". Otherwise in Windows you need to go to some kind of manager, that I don't really know it's name, once you are there you have toset a new role, the IIS role, after that all you have to do is to click next until the end of the wizard. After installing the web server in each VM I just had to set a demo web page in the IIS whereI request resources from the Linux server.

In this demo web page, 192.168.56.50/mipagina.html I am requesting car.jpg that is not located in the IIS, but it is locally in the Apache2 server in theLinux OS. To see what is this possible I had to go to the /var/log/apache2 path. Once we are already there I had to check the access.log and the error.log these kind of files are very useful to seewhat is going on with the server, I mean what is requesting resources to the server. I made a snapshot of the access.log file to show you what is it about.

So, after analysing the logs in the LinuxOS, I searched in the Internet about where does Windows Server keeps the logs; after browsing the Internet I found the path: C:\inetpub \logs\LogFiles\W3SVC1\; here I found the logs that the IIS makefor keeping the history of all requests that are done. I rather use the logs from the Linux OS, because are easier to find and are easier to read. As I said, these is a pretty simple activity; I...
