A mere 20 miles from the mexicos yucatan peninsula, Cozumel offer white sandy beach, crystal clear water and Caribbean climate, which can be enjoyed at any time of year. Cozumel is known for its scuba, diving and surface, making it a popular destination for cruise ships, much of the island is still occupied by virgin forest, full the flora and fauna, for example tropical birds andreptiles. However, there are restaurants, bars and other services is san Miguel Cozumel, the only city to visit the maya ruins of Cozumel and spectacular coral reef.
Xcaret: A popular park with natural underground rivers, botanical gardens, swims with dolphins, aquarium, entertainment, dining, diving, etc. Easy 5-10 minute taxi ride from town.

Akumal: A laid-back community of private villas and condominiums. There are a number of bays with good snorkeling. Akumal Bay stretches from Crescent in the north, south of Akumal Bay, Jade Bay and South Akumal. The "city" is in AkumalAkumal Bay. There are two small grocery stores and about 7 restaurants scattered throughout the area. Yal Ku Lagoon, near Half Moon Bay, is well known for its excellent diving.

Xel-Ha Natural Park waters for snorkeling, rivers and lakes, caves and jungle paths. Spend a day exploring this garden by the sea. Admission includes access to all areas of the park, train the river, float tubes, lifejackets and parking. Swimming with dolphins is extra. Available for rent snorkeling equipment. Open 7 days a week from 8:30 am

Soliman Bay and Tankah: Halfway between Akumal and Tulum, these areas are more remote. These areas consist of private villas along the beach. There is a restaurant in the Soliman Bay called Oscar and Lalo. And in Tankah, no restaurant can highly recommend Casa Cenote.Tulum is one of the most famous Mayan archaeological sites. This walled city is perched on a cliff overlooking the magnificent Caribbean Sea. Centuries ago, this place provided access to fishing vessels of the Mayan culture. Trade was a life essential to the Maya and this was a main route. Today, you can see the ruins of this ancient civilization and enjoy unforgettable views of the Caribbean fromthe high cliffs of the coast. Bring your bathing suit!

Coba is instead important Mayan archaeological site. This site has not been fully excavated and is deeper in the jungle. Plan to do a lot of walking if you visit Coba, the site is great.

Chichén Itzá: Probably the best known ancient Mayan site, recently named one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Allow a full day to explore Chichen Itza withdriving time. You can rent a car and do the same trip or take a comfortable bus.
