The Linear Dimension Commands are used to draw straight lines. There are five linear dimension commands: DIMLINEAR, DIMCONTINUE, DIMBASELINE, DIMLIGNED and DIMROTATED.The DIMLINEAR command is probably the most common dimension command you will use. With the keyboard DIMLINEAR command you can generate horizontal and vertical dimensions. To create alinear dimension you have start the command, specify the two points which you want for the dimension to be drawn and pick a point to fix the position of the dimension line.
InsideAutoCAD you can find different commands used according to our requirements, one of which is dim diameter which is basically a command to measure the diameter of circle or arc,which shows the dimension text with a diameter symbol in front of it . This is possible when it is generated earlier in AutoCAD. This command has three main functions that can be chosenaccording to the requirements, the first text is to add a prefix or suffix, before or after the measurement generated, the second text customize the dimension text in the commandprompt and generated dimension measurement is shown in brackets and finally angle changes the angle of dimension text, for example the diameter can be placed at an angle generated orgiven by the carders.
The first common type of dimension is the linear dimension it measures a distance from one point to another, but it always measures along the x or y axis.The second type of dimension is the aligned dimension. You can find it on the dimension toolbar or at dimension aligned. The actual lengths of an arc, like in a circle, and can alsobe found at dimension arc length. To use it, click on the arc segment that you want to measure, and drag it out the distance that you want to separate the part and the dimension.
