Recently, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) announced the list of the top ten species in danger of extinction due to global climate change. These are the world's most endangered species.
1) The polarbear
The first place is occupied by the polar bear as a species could disappear within 50 years if, as expected, continue to shrink the Arctic ice sheets. The ice melts in the Arctic Ocean at anaverage of 9% every ten years.
According to these calculations, the Arctic could lose its summer ice mass in the middle of this century.
Polar bears belong to a species that depends entirely on theexistence of the frozen sea. The bears use the ice as a floating platform from which to hunt seals. At present there are only 20,000 to 25,000 copies.
2) The Bengal tiger
The second animal is mostendangered Bengal tiger that lives in mangrove between Bangladesh and India. The Bengal tiger or Indian (Panthera tigris tigris) is, after the Siberian tiger, the second largest species of tiger in theworld.
Due to annual growth of 4 millimeters sea level, 70% of this feline habitat could be lost by 2060. His current situation is alarming and that is why they have created new reserves forpreservation in India.
3) Corals
In the third place on the list include corals, of which 80% may disappear within decades. A report published by the journal Science shows that a third of coral reefs areendangered.
The study identifies 231 species endangered, threatened or vulnerable. "It's disappointing because when corals die, the same thing happens to a lot of plants and animals that depend onthem for food or protection, which can lead to the collapse of entire ecosystems," said Kent Carpenter, author of the report
4) The Kangaroo
Thanks to global warming, the most emblematic speciesof Australia, kangaroos, could disappear in a few years. It is estimated that if temperatures increase by two degrees, one species inevitably be extinguished, and the general population of kangaroos...
