Congratulations on your selection to participate in the United States Embassy’s “Better English Student Teachers” (BEST) camp.
The camp will take place in Tepeyac, Granada, from January7-12, 2013. This is an overnight, on-site program and you should pack a small suitcase to meet your clothing and personal needs for one week: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, medicine, bottle ofwater, etc. The weather may be a little chilly early in the morning and at night and it may rain, so it is recommended to bring a jacket or a sweater and a blanket. The camp site is located in arural area and participants will be involved in some physical activities. It is highly recommended to bring casual clothes and running shoes. Please also bring any items you may want to use in atalent show that will be held at the end of the camp. Meals, bedding, towels, and bus transportation between Managua and Granada will be provided.
It is advisable to leave valuable items in yourhome and not to take them to the BEST camp. The U.S. Embassy, BEST camp staff and Casa de Retiro Tepeyac cannot accept responsibility for any loss, theft or damage of personal belongings.
DEPARTURE: Please bring your cedula and meet at the main entrance to the U.S. Embassy in Managua at 11:00 a.m. on January 7, 2013. The U.S. Embassy address is: Km 5.5 Carretera Sur. Del Semáforodel parque Las Piedrecitas, 1C al Este. A bus will transport all participants to the campsite in Tepeyac, Granada.
RETURN: A bus will return on January 12, 2013 to the U.S. Embassy in Managua,arriving at approximately 12:00 p.m.
