Introvert and extrovert theories
Extraversion and introversion is a significant factor in the human personality. In one hand the extraverts are people more aggressive and sociable. In the other handintroverts prefer solitude; however this doesn’t mean that they are lonely people, they are more comfortable when they socialize in smaller groups. Extraverts are always meeting new people andregularly their group of friends gets bigger (Argos, 2009).
Carl Jung did a study on extraversion and introversion. Jung observed that society gives more credit to extravert people, nevertheless oftenpeople know that introverts people are the mature ones, the ones who think about things a little bit more. He theorized that the extraverts seek excitement and stimulation constantly and that they enjoymore from being in large groups of people. Introverts prefer to read, write and think. They also enjoy socializing but they do it in a small group of people that they are familiar with and they feelcomfortable (Argos, 2009). The two personality types are completely different.
The extrovert is usually motivated by outside factors and greatly influenced by the environment. They are sociable andconfident in unfamiliar surroundings, less cautious, less fearful. They like organizations, parties, and tend to be optimistic and enthusiastic. Their weaknesses are found in a dependence on making agood impression; they easily make and break relationships; they are moody and avoid being alone and they lack self-criticism. The introverts are usually happy alone with a rich imagination, they preferreflection to activity. Their weaknesses are found in a lack confidence in relation to people and things and a tendency to be unsociable, shy, and hesitant (“Jung’s psychological types, “ 2009).
