Have you heard the phrase carpem diem, quam minimum postero? Well, is a phrase from a Latin poem by Horace ,and it means "seize the day, putting as little trustas possible in the future". An ideal example on what this phrase tries to involve, is a particular character in history called Philippe Petit. He is a French high-wire artist who took fame for hishigh-wire walk between the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, on 7th August 1974. He said one time, he wanted to “inspire the world” ; and surely he did it.

In the documentaryMan on Wire, Philippe Petit explains all the operations that he had to do for several years, in order to get the perfect result for his high-wire walk show between the twin towers. When he interprethis ideas and thoughts about how he feels being on a wire, he transmitted and incredible passion. It was his biggest motivation since he was little. For most of us, doing this kind of act issomething characterized as crazy and dangerous , but for Philippe Petit , it was a dream and a goal that he had to achieved in his life.

Lack of vocation is something that many people have in comun today,they tend to give up very easily without ever having completed half of the goals that they really want. Philippe Petit visualized what he wanted, and work highly hard to reach it. He wished being onthe “top of the world”, and he was sure that nothing will stop him . He faced numerous obstacles and misunderstandings in between , but he never lose the fate, dedicating year of constacy andpractice. Many people will died for the guts and courage that he had at that moment, It was act of bravery and admiration .
