SOLAR ENERGY
Solar energy is the energy obtained from the use of electromagnetic radiation from the Sun
The solar radiation reaching Earth has been harnessed by humans since ancient times, using different technologies that have evolved over time from conception. Currently, heat and sunlight can be harnessed through sensors and photovoltaic cells, heliostats thermal collectors, which cantransform into electricity or heat. It is a so-called renewable or clean energy, which can make considerable contributions to solving some of the most pressing problems facing humanity.
The different solar technologies are classified into passive or active depending on the way they capture, convert and distribute solar energy. Active technologies include the use of photovoltaic panels and thermalcollectors to collect energy. Among the passive techniques, different techniques are framed in bioclimatic architecture: the orientation of buildings to the Sun, selecting materials with favorable or thermal mass having properties for light scattering, and the design of spaces through ventilation natural.
In 2011, the International Energy Agency expressed as follows: "the development of solartechnologies clean, cheap and inexhaustible will be a huge long-term benefit. Increase energy security of countries through the use of an energy source local, inexhaustible and, more importantly, INDEPENDENT of imports, increase sustainability, reduce pollution, reduce the costs of climate change mitigation, and avoid the soaring prices of fossil fuels. These advantages are global. De Thus, the costs forincentive and development should be considered investment, should be made wisely and should be widely advertised "
The source of solar power is now developed solar PV. According to reports from the environmental organization Greenpeace, solar photovoltaics could supply electricity to two thirds of the world population in 2030
Today, thanks to technological advances, the sophistication and economyof scale, the cost of solar PV has dropped steadily since the first solar cells fabricated commercial, 3 turn increasing efficiency, and average cost of electricity generation is already competitive with conventional energy sources in an increasing number of geographical regions, reaching parity red.4 5 Other solar technologies such as solar thermal energy is also reducing costs considerably.Classification and related technologies more general use:

Solar enabled: to use low temperature (between 35 ° C and 60 ° C) is used in homes, in medium temperature reaches 300 ° C, and high temperature reaches 2000 ° C. The latter is achieved by impinging sunlight on mirrors, which are aimed at a reflector rays leading to a specific point. It can also be for power towers and parabolic mirrors.Passive Solar: Harness the sun's heat without mechanical devices or systems.
Solar thermal energy: It is used to produce low temperature hot water for sanitary and heating.
Photovoltaic solar energy: It is used to produce electricity using semiconductors plates are altered by solar radiation.
Solar thermal energy: It is used to produce electricity with a conventional thermodynamic cycle from ahigh temperature heated fluid (thermal oil).
Solar Hybrid: combines solar energy with other energy. According to the energy that is a hybrid combining:
Renewable: biomass, eólica.26
No renewable: fossil fuel.
Wind Solar Energy: Works with air heated by the sun, which goes up a chimney where the generators.
The installation of solar power plants in the areas marked on the map could provide morethan the energy consumed in the world today (assuming a conversion efficiency of 8%), including from heat, electricity, fossil fuels, etcetera. The colors indicate the average solar radiation between 1991 and 1993 (three years, calculated on the basis of 24 hours per day and considering the cloudiness observed by satellite).
