I will talk about the island of Bora Bora
ISLA DE BORA BORA : is an atoll in the Society Islands, part of French Polynesia located northwest of Tahiti. It consists of an extinct volcano, surroundedby a lagoon separated from the sea by a reef. The highest point is Mount Otemanu to 727 meters. The island is surrounded by motus, which are small elongated islands usually have some width andvegetation.
From Bora Bora we can see the nearby islands of Tahaa, Raiatea and Maupiti. The original name is Pora Pora in Tahitian, meaning "First Born". The island was settled by Polynesians perhaps thefourth century. Sighted by earlier explorers, James Cook visited in 1777. Bora Bora in 1842 became a protectorate of France. During World War II, the island was chosen as the supply base in the SouthPacific.
Is one of the most exotic destinations in the world, its economy based on tourism, largely from Japan and the United States. Both the airport and major hotels are located on motus, sincethese services are transport boats come and go regularly from the hotels to the main island.
Bora Bora is known for its Coral Reef, crystal clear waters ranging from the range of green to blue. Thedance Tahitian tamure characteristic is that each visitor is greeted with the typical dance.
