The play is about an orphan girl, Jane Eyre, who lost his parents and raised by her aunt, Mrs. Reed, in Gateshead, who hates the girl and only took it because her husband (brother of Jane's father)did promise it. Reed's children hate the girl, especially John, which he hits. But Jane always loses and after a time that John hits, she is locked in a room, just to defend. There, she thinks he seesthe ghost of his uncle. So, Jane lives a nightmare until Mrs. Reed sends her to study at Lowood, a charity school for orphaned girls or few resources directed by Mr. Brocklehurst. There, Jane and allthe girls are oppressed by the owner (Blokhurst) are not fed properly, are few and shabby clothes, are insulted and punished excessively, etc. Then, a typhus epidemic attacks the school and manystudents are killed, including a close friend of Jane, Helen Burns, whom he loved it. After that, the school gets public attention and improve conditions for students. Here ends the first part of thenovel.

Then he went to work as a governess at Thornfield because it placed an ad in the newspaper offering his services.There he teaches Adele Varens, a child adopted by the landlord, Mr. Rochester, Jane knows that after a few months of living there.
