Dr. Jonathan Swift:

I truly worship your ideas and proposals. My name is Joseph Whelan, I was born here, in Britain. My family and I are part of a company that constructsand sells ovens. Because I am the oldest of all my siblings, turning 48 next summer, I am the head chief of this business. Lately, I’ve been worried because my company is about to go bankrupt. As afather of 3 children (2 unwanted) I am frustrated. Before, I used to be part of the middle-high class society, however I am becoming more and more un-wealthy. I am aware of the various reasons to whythis is happening. To begin with, I truly believe that those bloody Irish immigrants are taking all the jobs, and leaving us, the original habitants of this country, unemployed. Moreover, it is relevanthow our population is growing at a high rate. If we don’t stop this, not only will England become an unbalanced country economically, but it will also affect our culture.

This is why I respondto your proposal in a positive way. If this country decides to apply what you have proposed, It will be beneficial for many of us native English men. I will explain my situation. If we start to eatchildren, there will be more need of ovens and stoves, to bake them, boil them, season them, etc. a big part of the society is going to commence to buy ovens, and because my company is the only one, theprofit of the sold ovens, will directly affect me, in a positive way. My wage will increase, and my economical stability will be better than it was even before I became bankrupt. I can take out a lotof profit from eating children. In addition, it is obvious that we are in the urgent need to get rid of undesired population, and therefore, it is for our own good to use this human flesh, and eatit. Helping our economy in different ways, by becoming self sufficient in terms of food, we will not need more imports, and we will survive with the babies born here.
