The livestock industry of 1880 brought $45 million dollars from Great Britain while the J. Edgar Thomson Mills brought $40 million and it decreased the price of steel. The Great Standard Oil trustlowered prices on products unlike other businesses. This proves that big business not only helps the economy, but they also help out the community. Expansion is essential for economical growththerefore, Congress should not constrain the expansion of business.
Companies now produced raw materials, transportation facilities, marketing outlets, and factories. Helped the Economic Panic of 1890 byhelping with the debt problems. It also helped companies grow $90 million dollars by 1900. This confirms that vertical integration is important in the economy and there should be no limits onvertical integration.
Over 36 million immigrants migrated to the U.S. between the years 1877-1920. 15% of the population in the 1900's were immigrants. They occupied more jobs which increased theproductivity and money growth. Without immigrants the country would loose a large percent of its money. Thus, making immigrants crucial to the country and there should be no constraints on immigration.90% of the oil from the Standard Oil Company acquired money by using industrial waste like Vaseline. The company also lowered costs by using waste pipelines. Monopolies made it so the economy andcountry didn't have to depend on the trains and their highly costs. They helped reduce the price of petroleum products and it gave low cost services to customers. This shows that monopolies helpout the economy and should not be restricted.
Between 1860-1890 wages went up by 50%. Unskilled workers earned $1.50 and skilled workers earned about $3 . They made about $500 a year.
