COMPOSICIÓN Y FUNCIONES BÁSICAS DE LA FAMILIA

1.CONCEPTO DE FAMILIA Y SUS LÍMITES: El concepto de familia no es un concepto unívoco para toda época o cultura, demodo que podamos apreciar diferencias transculturales sustanciales en los miembros que se consideran pertenecientes a ella, así como en los roles y funciones esperados de cada uno y de la familia en su conjunto.
Para Maxler y Mishler(1978), la familia se define como un grupo primario, como un grupo de convivencia intergeneracional, con relaciones de parentesco y con una experiencia de intimidadque se extiende en el tiempo.
Burgess(1979) define la familia como una “unidad de personas en interacción”. El término “unidad” hace referencia a una realidad que va más allá de las personas individuales y de los lazos biológicos o legales.
