SUMMARY (Page 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7)
Stuart hadn’t got motorbike. He left school, but he didn’t start work. Stuart was seventeen years old, he lived in Leeds, a very big and busy city. It’s wasn’t a goodplace for a holiday.
Martin, a friend of Stuart, worked in a garage. He had a bike for sale and wanted £ 350 for the bike. Stuart wanted to buy it, but he doesn’t have Money enough. Stuart went andlooked at the bike every day.
His house was in Blenheim Street near the university.
Most of the old houses belonged to the university. Sometimes he found old books and a gramophone records. Hewanted to find something valuable.
There was a house at the corner of Blenheim Street. It’s owner had died. The university bought the house.
This was empty. Someone looked out of a window. It was a manof about twenty. He was Frank. He had long hair and was wearing a headband.
He was a squatter. The squatters don’t pay any rent.
Frank wanted to speak to Stuart.
He wanted Stuart to watch the housefor half an hour.
He was going to squat there.

SUMMARY (Pages 8, 9 and 10)
Frank was about twenty, but he looked much older.
Frank went round the corner and the street was empty, Stuart put oneleg over the window sill and looked inside.
Inside the house it was dark. Slowly the room became clearer lots of old newspapers were lying around on the door and there was a mattress against the farwall and a calendar on the wall. Stuart quickly climbed into the room.
There was nothing underneath the newspapers. Stuart took the calendar, no one had changed it for five years. Then, Stuartremembered. The owner of the house had been ill for five years.
Stuart picked up the mattress, it had stitching along one side. He cut the stitches with his knife and put his hand in the hole. Stuart founda bundle of newspapers and inside it there were some banknotes.
