Logical Link Control
LLC - The Logical Link Control (LLC) data communication protocol layer is the upper sub-layer of the Data Link Layer (which is itself layer2, just above the Physical Layer) in the seven-layer OSI reference model. It provides multiplexing mechanisms that make it possible for several network protocols (IP, IPX, Decnet and Appletalk) tocoexist within a multipoint network and to be transported over the same network media, and can also provide flow control and automatic repeat request (ARQ) error management mechanisms.
MAC - The MediaAccess Control (MAC) data communication protocol sub-layer, also known as the Medium Access Control, is a sublayer of the Data Link Layer specified in the seven-layer OSI model (layer 2). It providesaddressing and channel access control mechanisms that make it possible for several terminals or network nodes to communicate within a multi-point network, typically a local area network (LAN) ormetropolitan area network (MAN). The hardware that implements the MAC is referred to as a Medium Access Controller.
NIC - A network interface controller (also known as a network interface card, network adapter, LAN adapter and by similar terms) is a computer hardware component that connects a computer to a computer network.
Whereas network interface controllers were commonly implemented onexpansion cards that plug into a computer bus, the low cost and ubiquity of the Ethernet standard means that most newer computers have a network interface built into the motherboard.
DSAP - DestinationService Access Point: A Service Access Point (SAP) is an identifying label for network endpoints used in Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) networking.
Ambos DSAP y SSAP son sub-capas del LLC, de dondesalen (source) y llegan (destination) los datos y verifican el fluir y el contol de errores en la trasnmisión de datos.
SSAP - Source Service Access Point: A Service Access Point (SAP) is an...
