The Real World Consequences
of Facebook

Introduction

Facebook is a free web site, which is open to everyone in the world. Facebook allows individuals to create profiles that include personal interest, affiliations, pictures, and with some limitations, virtually anything else a user wants to post. As a user you can also join Groups or networks, divided in countries, cities, schools, workplaces, universities, etc. You can also add friends (that you know and that you don’t know) to your Friends list, so that you can have access to their accounts to see what’s going on with their lives. But the problem is exactly this one, because Facebook was created by Marc Zuckerberg, a Harvard student, to stay in contact with his friends of the University:” My dream was to create a place where Icould find my friends and stay in contact with them although they are in another country”. But know facebook has expand itself becoming the second visited web site in the world, that anyone can join to do whatever the user wants to do.
Facebook has tried to offer some privacy to the users, but the changes that they have made in this sense, haven’t been good enough because the same users are nothelping the Company. The biggest problem with Facebook, is that you can have easy access to a stranger’s life, and there are stalkers or cyber-bullies using this free information of everyone to make their life impossible, and there have been some cases in which the victims have committed suicide trying to get out of the problem.
The other problem with the information is that everyone is in a kindof addiction of it. There are users who can’t live without knowing what is going on with the other so they are in the necessity to be the whole day logged into facebook. There are other reasons why the people are asking themselves if it’s better to close their accounts or not. Here I am going to explain some motives to close your facebook account not for saving the world but for saving yourself.Indice
