Quizás el descubrimiento más espectacular encontrado en Igea haya sido un tronco fósil de conífera de 11 mts. de largo, éste magnífico tronco se encuentra a 4 Km. delpueblo, en la colina que está enfrente a la ermita de la Virgen del Villar, y se encuentra situado a pie de carretera en dirección a Cornago.

Since we have seen in case of the vegetation typically mesozoica,that already was dominating in his fundamental types from the Permian one, the coniferous ones and other groups that habian been the most distinctive of the Triásico andof the Jurassic one were replaced slowly along the Cretaceous one with a new type more evolved of plants, the angiospermas, or plants with flowers. These appeared tobeginnings of the Cretaceous one in Gondwana's southern continent and very soon they spread all over the world, up to the point of turning, in the Cretaceous Superior, inthe most representative plants of many environments. Probably the most spectacular discovery found in Igea has been a fossil trunk of coniferous of 11 mts. of length, thisone magnificent trunk is to 4 km from the village, in the hill that is face to the hermitage of the Virgin of the Village, and it is placed afoot of road towards Cornago.
