Modern Day Thoreau

As I’m awakening on this cold winter morning I hear the familiar sounds of ice cracking and silent skies speaking. During my time with nature, an unknown noise begins to erupt.I look out the window only to see that the neighbors are having yard work done. How strange that they decided to hire men to do the work that they are fully capable of doing themselves I slip on mycoat and make my way out the front door in attempt to identify the type of work being done.
In their yard is a group of men assessing one of the biggest most beautiful trees in the neighborhood. To myabsolute disbelief, I discover that the men have plans of chopping down the tree. Immediately appalled, I begin to march over to address the situation. My feet surprise me as they begin to walkfaster and faster, seeing that I am not usually a man of so much confidence. I become overwhelm by my own pride in nature and let myself go with no intention of stopping. I soon find myself in front of myneighbors (which if I remember correctly go by the Johnsons) front door step as I knock furiously. After roughly thirty seconds the man of the house opens the door. First he asks what was wrong, as hecan see the distressed look in my face. After my numerous failed attempts at explaining, he invites me in to sit down.
Once I calm myself and collect my thoughts, I begin to speak once more. Iexplained to the man how chopping down such a healthy and significant tree is inhumane and foolish. After speaking for at least ten minutes, I catch my breath and stop as I see I have gotten my pointacross. Looking down before he spoke, the man explained to me how he understood my point completely; but that they had to cut the tree down to make room for the new pool they were soon installing. Beforehe could say anything else I stormed out of the house, extremely enraged.
