Good afternoon teachers, students and partners. My name is Justine Guevara and I`m going to talk about Mozart Child Prodigy.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is considered one of the greatest musicalchild prodigies who ever lived.
He was born in 1756, in Salzburg, Austria, where his father, Leopold Mozart, was a violinist and composer.
Mozart became a violin virtuoso as well as a composer. Whenhe was five, he had composed several minutes.
In 1762 Mozart and his sister played for the Empress Maria Theresa, the Emperor Francis I, and the court in Vienna. When he played in Paris 1764, hehad already published four sonatas for the clavier and violin. By 1765, he had composed his first symphony, and by the time he was twelve, he had composed an opera.
Mozart remained in Vienna from 1781to 1787, while there; he wrote the opera The Marriage of Figaro, one of his greatest works, along with many piano concertos and string quartets. But soon Mozart`s character and his revolutionaryideas made him unpopular. Although such works as his exquisite opera Don Giovanni were successful.
During Mozart's last, difficult years, he composed some of the most beautiful music anyone has everwritten. He wrote two operas, Cosi Fan Tutte in 1790 and The Magic Flute in 1791. Also in 1791, Mozart began to compose a requiem. He had been ill for some time, and he began to think the requiem wasfor himself. Mozart died in Vienna on December 5 of that year.
At the time of his death at age thirty-five, Mozart had created 626 works, including nearly 50 symphonies, 20 operas, and 23 pianoconcertos. Still very poor, he was given a cheap funeral at Saint Stephen`s Cathedral near the city of Vienna.
In conclusion; Mozart, one of the world`s greatest musical prodigies, now lies buried in anunmarked grave at Saint Marx Cemetery, but his music continues to live on.
