To begin with, the process of mummification has changed over the centuries as the times have changed as well. How peopledress, technology, education, and pretty much everything else has been advanced since the time of the early Egyptians. The process of mummification for the earliest ancient Egyptians was that theyburied their dead in pits in the desert, which made their bodies dry, making them look like lifelike mummies. Later on, the ancient Egyptians changed their ways of mummification to putting their dead incoffins to protect them from animals, however they realized that the bodies decayed. In many centuries, the ancient Egyptians changed their process of mummification again to preserving the dead bodiesby embalming the bodies and wrapping them in strips of linen. In addition, the process of mummification has two stages. The first is the embalming of the body and the second, the wrapping and burialof the body. These two processes are done to protect the body and consists of the Egyptian’s culture. The embalming consists of taking out the person’s organs and washing the body, mainly with oils.Secondly, the wrapping is done while saying a prayer to keep evil spirits away. They wrap the person from the head to the feet in different layers and materials. Then a ritual is done until they arefinally ready to place the body into the tomb. As the ancient Egyptians believed: the body is ready for its journey to the underworld.
To continue, the science we have today with such advances inmedicine and technology is incredible. Through that process from learning something new every single day, we have been able to uncover a lot of things about the past, including: King Tut. King Tut was anancient pharaoh of Egypt.
