What is a natural phenomenon?

Any expression of nature and activity of the Earth is called "natural phenomenon", regardless of their impact to the man andhis way of life

When a natural phenomenon is dangerous?

Not all phenomenon a is dangerous for the man. Usually we live with them and are part of our natural environment. For example, rainyseason, small tremors, flooding of rivers, winds, etc.

What is a natural disaster?

It's the reciprocity between natural phenomena of danger and vulnerable human conditions ,housing not preparedfor earthquakes or defenseless villages to flooding


CLASSIFICATION:

According to the criterion of the Organization of the United Nations (ONU), disasters are classified in the following manner1) Natural disasters.
2) Technological disasters.

Disasters generated by dynamic processes in the INTERIOR of the Earth:

Earthquakes: Son of crustal movements that generate intensedeformations in the rocks of the interior of the Earth.
 
Tidal Waves: movement of the Earth's crust on the bottom of the ocean, forming and propagating waves of high altitude.
 
 Volcaniceruptions: is the step of material (magma), ash and gases in the interior of the Earth to the surface




Disasters generated by dynamic processes in the surface of the Earth:


Landslides: Is thedownfall of a strip of land that loses its stability or destruction of a structure built by man.

Avalanches: mass of snow that scrolls down pending.

Alluvium: Flow of large volumes of mud, water,ice, friction caused by the rupture of a pond or a snow slide.

Disasters generated by phenomena meteorological

Flood: slow or violent invasion of river water, lagoons or lakes, due to heavyRainfall River or ruptures of reservoirs, causing considerable damage.

Drought: deficiency of moisture in the atmosphere by rainfall or inadequate.
