Obesity in Canadian children
According to CBC news, in Canada the 31% of the children population suffer of obesity or overweight, this goes from agesamong 5 to 17. Most of the children who are obesity it comes from the male sex, they surpass the percentage tripling the amount that girls have. Although theseestimations have not changed over the years at all, despite researchers need more data points to determinate if is increasing or decreasing the pattern ofoverweight as has been observed in others countries. Fast food chains have created and environment where meals are much tasty and their cost are accessible,however it has a higher quantity and level of calories than regular food. CBC medical contributor Dr. Karl Kabasele said that many factors are affecting childobesity. For instance children who prefer playing video games rather than doing outdoors activities like playing any sport such as soccer, tennis, basketballetc.
As we know the importance of health it is for life, team of medical experts are arguing and creating ways for children finding alternatives to reducethe obesity based on eating more fruits and vegetables, changing the environment that kids are growing up in, motivating them to do more outdoors activities.More than 2000 children heights and weights were taken form the Canadian Health Measures Survey and The Public Health Agency of Canada to get to know thepercentage of obesity or overweight between August 2009 and December 2011.
