1. MONOLITHIC: workforce composed primarily of whitemales & few minority with high levels of segregation (low payment)
2. PLURAL: more inclusive of persons from cultural background that differ from dominant group
Strategies used: hiring &promotion polices
Training on equal opportunity
Review compensations (to ensure fair systems)
3. MULTICULTURAL: integrates minorities in all structural levels includingmanagement/executive
positions
Integration of informal/social networks of the company
Absence of prejudice & discrimination
Not only accommodates diversity but also values it
TECHNOLOGICALFORCES
New technologies force organizations reconsider their purposes & methods or else they’ll be extinct.
There are 3 strategic areas, which need to be taken care of:
1. OPERATIONS(manufacturing, services, administration, logistics…)
Organization Are they done in the best way?
2. SELLING (marketing web scales, operation & promotion advances for product differentiation)
Howare you going to sell your product in a better and more efficient way?
3. FINANCES (operations done in real time collecting investments)
POLITICAL AND LEGAL FORCES
1.- Administrators have todiagnose political & legal forces 2.- they have to find useful means to prevent, respond & avoid problems that can generate this way, they’ll meet the organizational goals
these forces gobeyond laws & government institutions because we have to consider:
Political strategies: negotiation, influence in government decisions, alliances, representations, socialization
