PABLO NERUDA

Pablo Neruda was born in Chile in 1904, his real name is Neftali Ricardo Reyes Basoalto. Soon began to write poetry, and in 1921 published The Song of theparty, his first poem, under the pseudonym of Pablo Neruda, in honor of Czech poet Jan Neruda, a name that remained thereafter and legalized in 1946.
His mother died a month after he was born, and hisfather, a railroad worker settled in Termuco where Neruda course his studies. They also began work on a newspaper, until at sixteen moved to Santiago, where he published his first poems in the magazineClarity.
After publishing several books of poetry, achieved international fame in 1924 with "Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair", a work that distinguishes the first stage of his poetry, markedby the transition to forms of avant-garde modernism.
Between 1934 and 138, he moved to Spain, then founded the magazine "Green Horse for Poetry"
In this sense, the Republicans supported Neruda atthe outbreak of civil war and wrote "Spain in the heart." Gradually his poems experienced a transition towards a more tight and dark to perceive the passage of time, chaos and death in everydayreality.
Back in Chile, Neruda in 1939 he joined the Communist Party and his work underwent a shift to political activism that led to the exaltation of American myths. In 1945 he was the first poet to beawarded the National Literature Prize in Chile. At the same time, from his seat as senator used his speech to denounce the abuses and inequities of the system. This attitude led government persecutionand subsequent exile in Argentina.
From there he went to Mexico, and later traveled to China and Eastern Europe, during this trip, Neruda wrote laudatory poems and received the Lenin Peace Prize, thenreturned to Chile. Thereafter, the poetry of Pablo Neruda began a new.
