Arguments against legalization of drugs in Mexico

Jean Ausina A01331518

1. The first argument against the legalization of drugs in Mexicois that the main market of Mexican drug cartels is the US, because Mexico and Mexicans have a status of producers and the US of consumers, thisthought leads us to the fact that if the US does not legalize drugs before Mexico does, there is still going to be a war on drugs and a war betweendrug cartels, because the main market is there. Yes, there would be an improvement with obtaining drugs in Mexico, but violence would still be inthe streets and in towns.
2. There are two lines of thoughts in favor of legalization of drugs, the ones that say that the government should notbe able to interact with people´s private life and the way they harm themselves, and the ones that say if drugs were obtainable legally therewould be less violence in the streets. But governments stand therefore to protect the lives of their citizens, to create an environment of health anrespect, drugs corrupt people and their minds.
3. In case of legalizing drugs there would be a black market, because black markets live as longas there are parameters of the law, let´s say it drugs are legalized, the black market would exist, because drugs would be sold to young adults (18years old), drug dealers would sell drugs to minors.
