Speech

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I have to say thank you and I’m glad to share with you another year. Today, there is an important person herebut she can’t come out until the end.

Every year we have got many celebrations and we only talk about them. We have got a day for our fathers, for ourmothers, even a day for children. We celebrate our love in Saint Valentine. The teacher’s day, the Labour Day, many days about diseases, the Constitution day,the day of All Saints… The 90% of the days have something to celebrate. The rest are fetedays from our own cities or communities.

It is not bad. Peoplelove party and if we work less, better! If we have got these days is because we have to congratulate someone or something. But we only remember someone orsomething these days, the rest of the year we forget that.

Ok, ok. I’m losing the one’s train of thought. I want you to think who is one of the mostimportant person in your life. The person who taught to your parents how to cook, especially your mothers. You always say: ‘I just like how my mother cooks’. Theperson who taught how to clean, who knows about everything because she lived very hard years since she was young.

She worked like cooker, washerwoman, teacher… and even as baby-sitter when your parents had to work or they had a party. What could we do without them? Don’t you think that our grandmothers deservean important day in our calendars? Please, if you are agree with me, clap to Julia, my grandmother! And a loud applause for your grandmothers! Thank you again.
