Virginia became a great exporter of tobacco, and this brought with it jobfor indentured workers from England. Settlers were really busy growing tobacco and it served as barter between the Virginia's company and the settlers, because if settlers desire a bride theyhad to pay to the company the exorbitant sum of 120 pounds weight of the best tobacco.

English settlers sent Black people and white indentured from England to work in tobacco fields, but as aracist behavior both played a different role white people worked for a fixed period of time and rewarded with freedom but black people had an eternal contract, they won’t be free ever.
