In the first part of the movie is a bit confuse, actually the humanoid that we can watch at the beginning is a extraterritorial being that was planting the life onearth by drinking a passion that decompose his body and therefore the DNA once he drinks it. So after he drank the substance his body in decompose goes to the waters, and that’s the way how he plants lifeon earth and the evolution process start.
Drs. Shaw and Holloway spent years tracking a circular pattern images associated with oversized humanoids in ruins dating from ancient times of humanity.When finally decipher their meaning, they discover that these marks correspond to the location of a planet in a star system similar to ours. With the hope of finding the origin of life on Earth, thescientists embarks on Prometheus, a ship of the corporation Weyland (same as later, will be involved in the conflicts in the series "Alien "). According to Dr. Shaw, life was "planted" on our planet byaliens and expects to find in space checking his theory.
Prometheus researchers reach the planet in question and meet enormous ruins, within which discovered the bodies of giant humanoids (Engineers)and a myriad of capsules summarizing organic oily liquid.
