Psycho=mind or soul / Logy=study of

A branch of studies based on systematically conducted research

An unobservable activity by which persons or animals reorganize past experiences through the use of symbols or concepts.

Refers to any living person or animal

Is any personality disturbance

A very aggressive person
9. How is psychology related to physics, biology and chemistry?Physics provide instruments for measuring bodily changes, chemistry provide drugs to treat psychological disorders and biology give information of how heredity affects the behavior and how the brain and nervous system works.
10. What is anthropology and how is it related to psychology?
Study the ancient cultures, or ways of life of people around the world. They provide the information of howpeople learned and behaved and how that affects us.
11. What is sociology?
Study the behavior of human groups and how they interact within our own culture.
12. What is social psychology?
Study how a social group affects an individual and how the individual affects the group
13. Psychology in the stone age?
They thought that abnormal behavior was due to spirits, they drilled theindividual’s skull to let the evil spirit out

They believed that our behavior was controlled by a little person named Ka, who was controlled by ka number two, all the way to ka number seven.
15. Ancient Greeks?
Plato said that the mind and the soul were two different things; Aristotle said that the mind and the body were the same thing. Hippocrates said that abnormalbehavior was caused by diseases, not evil spirits.
16. Psychology in the middle ages?
People believed that abnormal behavior was due to demons, and to get them out they made exorcisms
17. What is phrenology?
They believed that they could read peoples personality by felling the bumps on their heads.
18. What’s structuralism?
It was created by Wilhelm Wundt; it studies the structure ofhuman consciousness.
19. What’s functionalism?
Created by William James, it studies how the mind functions, or works.
20. Sigmund Freud?
He studied the unconscious and conscious and invented the psychoanalysis.
21. What’s psychoanalysis?
Bring unconscious feelings to the surface.
22. Behaviorism and behaviorists?
John B. Watson, B.F. Skinner, Albert Bandura, they said thatbehavior can be oriented by using reinforcements and punishment.
23. What is Gestalt psychology?
They believed that is was a mistake to break down behavior into little elements, it was better by treating the whole problem.
24. Cognitive psychology?
Study how people perceive, store and interpret information.
25. Existential psychology?
They believed that the people have free will.
26.Humanistic psychology? .
The believed and study how people tried to achieve their maximum potential.
27. What’s natural observation?
To observe the behavior of organisms in their natural observation environment.
28. What’s directed observation?
To observe behavior in a laboratory or experimental setting.

A timeline based on your own experiences.30. What’s a hypothesis?
Groups of ideas that are not confirmed.
31. What’s a variable?
Any condition that can change in amount or or quality.
32. What’s and independent variable?
It is manipulated by the experimenter.
33. What’s a dependent variable?
It changes in response of the independent variable.
34. What is random?
Each one have the same chance of being selected....
