Quino

My oral report is about Joaquin Salvador Lavado, him artist name is Quino, he is the creator of the comic strip mafalda, this comics is very popular in all LatinAmerica and Europe.
He was born in 17 July 1932 in Guaymellen in the province of Mendoza in Argentina, but his parents are from Spain; he got him nickname because himuncle have a same name.
Him uncle, a painter, is who influenced Quino to be a cartoonist at the 3 years old.
He lost him parents since the 10 years old.
Hepasses the primary and later go a Fine Arts School of Mendoza for study art, but he leaves this school for drawing him own cartoon of humor.
In Argentine the militaryservice is obligatory, after the service Quino back to Buenos Aires and takes a job in a national magazine named “Esto es”, and drawing comic strips in this magazine.Him strips become very popular in this magazine.
In 1960 he married with Alicia Colombo. They don’t have any children.
In 1963 he sell his first humor book namedthe world Quino; and in 1964 he create him most popular character, Mafalda
Mafalda is a comic strip about a little girl and her friends with a realistic view of theworlds and the ordinary life in Argentina.
This comic has been translated up more of 10 languages and in our country is published of the national newspaper LaNacion.

Quino won many prizes with him carton in his career
In 1982 he wins the prize of the best cartoonist of the year, he won twice the prize konex platinum invisual arts, in 1988 is named illustrious citizen of Mendoza and in the 2000 he receive the second place in the Quevedos prize in the category of graphical humor.
