RECYCLING
1. There are three ways to eliminate waste and protect the environment: the 3 R s.
2. Recycle: means to make new products from old ones.3. Reduce: is to use less, to use only the amount that is needed.
4. Reuse: to use an item more than one time.
5. The 3Rs are very importante toreduce pollution on Earth.
6. Items made from recycled materials take less energy and create less pollution than ítems made from new materials.
7. Youcan recycle many kinds of materials as paper, glass, aluminium, plastic, metal, etc.
Paper:
8. Recycled paper produces 73% less air pollutionthan if it was made from new materials.
9. It takes 24 trees to make 1 ton of paper.
10. Paper must be separated into magazines, newspaper, office paper,cardboard and phone directories.
Glass:
11. Glass is 100% recyclable and can be used again and again.
12. Glass that is thrown away inlandfills will never decompose.
13. Glass is separated in 3 colors: green, brown and clear.
Plastic:
14. Plastic can take up 500 years todecompose.
15. Plastic bottles must be clean before recycling them.
16. There are about 50 different types of plastic, the basic ones are opaque andtransparent.
17. In every home and school there should be a recycling process with different kinds of trash cans to separate the materials.
18. Now peopleis getting more information about the benefits of recycling.
