REGIONAL DIALECTS NORTHERN AND THE MIDLAND
Well after viewing the information it could say that regional dialects are mostly know as the accents of a person, the way he speaks that canidentify from what part or place he is from. There varieties in the expressions and also can be showed in the grammar.
In the United States there are 4 regional dialects that can be notice by eachregion. These regions are very different in their accents like the north and the south also the west from midland. And you may ask. Where is the east? Well when America first started their where only 13colonies that begun on the east side of America so then the people begun the expansion west and left the upper east side has the northern or northeast and the bottom has the southern or southeast allthe north and south side of the west was left like that “west”.
Now in the northern dialects they have there accents more influence by the British in the colonial times and also being the oldest regionin America they have had more time to develop. The regions might think that they are mean or rude because of their tone that sounds offensive and perhaps it can be that they speak more loudly andrapidly they also can be judge has people that are very proper in the assertive way they express themselves.
The best two cities to exemplify the Northeastern accent/dialect are Boston, Massachusettsand New York City, New York.
In Boston, the distinct feature is undoubtedly the dropping of the final “r” in words, as in “park the car” (pahk the kah) and a broadening of the vowels, as in the wordsBoston (Bahstn) and coffee (caw-fee). It seem like they are putting an “h” where the “r” belongs. New Yorkers have many of the same sound patterns. They, too, drop the“r”, “I’m from here (hea), New York” (New Yawk).
They have words which are unique to their region, as in frappe, which is a milkshake and bubbler that means water fountain.
