Chapter 8: Create Strong Passwords

• Create strong passwords that use random combinations of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and characters.
• Usedifferent passwords for each account.
• Change your passwords every six months or so.
• Do not use the remember password function on your Internet browser or other software programs.
• Itneeds to contain special characters such as @#$%^&
• It must be at least 8 characters long.
• It must not have any common words such as 123, password, your birth date, your login name andany words that can be found in the dictionary.
• A variation of capitalization and small letters.
Chapter 9: Tip 9: Back Up Your Files
• Back up the data on your computer periodically.
•Store files in your computer under a common file folder (with subfolders, of course) to make it easy to identify your information from the operating system and program files.
• Using a UBS or anexternal Hard Drive.
A computer backup is a major component of any computer system. The backup is your replacement of any files lost, deleted or changed on your computer. Keeping a recent backupof files is strongly recommended. Before you back up your system, go through your files and delete any old, unneeded and unwanted files. There is no point in backing up files you don't use or openanymore. Purge your system and move any files that are on your "Desktop" to their respected folders.
