Political situation & leaders
In 1904 (at the beginning of WW1) Russian government didn’t wanted to take part in WW1 but Germany was considered to be an enormous threat toits territory and this fear increased when the Triple Alliance was formed, also because the Russians had a dispute with the Austro Hungarian empire for the Balkans territory so the Russian governmentagreed to be part of the Triple Entente. Tsar Nicholas II was the leader at the beginning of the War until March 1917 when he abdicated. Then the Provisional Government headed first by Prince GeorgiLvov and then Alexander Kerensky led Russia until October 1917. Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks (Communists) overthrew the Provisional Government in the October Revolution and led Russia throughthe end of the war. Vladimir Lenin negotiated a peace treaty with Germany and Austria to end the War surrendering the Ukraine, Finland, the Baltic Provinces, the Caucasus and Poland.
The Revolt in1905-07
The revolt in Russia started as a peaceful protest strike held by an orthodox priest and followed by many people their demand was only help from the government. While they were marching in thestreets the crowd suddenly faced a military group who started shooting at them and killing them and thousands died. This was called bloody Sunday.
And the people became crazy. There was a lot ofterrorism everywhere and a lot of revolts were made. The country was a total chaos. The people demanded more freedom and freedom of speech.
By the end the government had to give them something in order togain control of everything again.
Economic situation & alliances
The Bolshevik Revolution was 1918. Since it all went to Communism after then there was no "real" capitalism to speak of, and allmoney and possessions became state money and possessions.
