When he was 14 he was set with the great painter Fra Filippo, where he learnedpainting techniques. Botticelli was greatly influenced by him. By 1465, he had his own studio.
His paintings became very popular, making lots of money, and becaming one of Florence´s favoriteartist. Some of his s¡most popular paintings are:
The Adoration of the Magi, The Birth of Venus, The Judith, Primavera, Madonna the Magnificent and the masterly group of the Virgin Enthroned.
Realismwas ignored in Botticelli's paintings. He loved to allergorize (has an underlying meaning). He favored the nude. Botticelli used delicate color and poetic lines.
