INTRODUCCION

En el santuranticuy los trabajos tallados en madera, las cerámicas y retablos son los más solicitados por los turistas y los pobladores. Pero, no solo los cuzqueños participande esta feria, también comerciantes de Ayacucho, Puno, Arequipa, e incluso de Bolivia. En total son más de 10 mil artesanos que se unen para vender sus productos.

SANTURANTICUY
Santuranticuy,which means "sale of saints”, is a provisional market where sculptors and artisans offer the most diverse figures to brighten the holidays and accompany the manger "births" that are constructed in homesand parishes.
ORIGIN:
The origin of this fair date back to the Vice-regency, and today has become one of the largest arts and crafts fairs in Peru. It is held in the main square of Cusco, whereartisans lay out blankets on the sidewalks, as is the custom in traditional Andean fairs.
Santuranticuy, which means "saints for sale", is a provisional market where image carvers and artisans sell awide variety of figurines to liven up Christmas and fit out the Nativity scenes that are set up in homes and parish churches. The fair also sells a variety of ceramic objects brought from Pucará andQuinua. Here one can find all sorts of arts and crafts, such as wooden carvings, pottery and the boxed scenes called retables.
At night, street vendors sell a traditional hot and sweet rum punch calledponche, to warm up chilly visitors

As in ancient times, takes place in the Main Square of Cusco, on the sidewalks to artists spread their blankets, following the custom of traditionalAndean fairs.
