Segundo condicional estructra

 Estructura condicional del segundo tipo: la condición "probable" o "irreal"
Esta estructura condicional aparece bajo la siguiente forma:
SI   +  imperfecto de subjuntivo | condicional simple |
| condicional compuesto |
Ejemplos:
Si tuviera coche,
(imperfecto de subjuntivo) | haría ese viaje. 
(condicional simple) |
Si hicieras bien tu trabajo, 
(imperfecto de subjuntivo) |no debería vigilarte constantemente. 
(condicional simple) |
Si ganara más dinero,
(imperfecto de subjuntivo) | habría podido comprarme un coche nuevo. 
(condicional compuesto) |
Si hablara mejor el inglés, 
(imperfecto de subjuntivo) | no habría necesitado un intérprete. 
(condicional compuesto) |
Llamamos "probable" a este tipo de condición, pues si bien en principio no se trata de nada que nopueda cumplirse o que sea altamente hipotético, cierto es que en el momento en que se habla no es todavía una realidad; pero no hay nada que,en principio, pueda impedir que esta condición se cumpla.
Ejemplo:
Si fuera Presidente, | Pedro bajaría los impuestos. |
(En efecto, según la ley o la Constitución, nada impide a Pedro el ser Presidente; pero por el momento no es el caso...) |
Hablamostambién de condición "irreal", porque bajo esta estructura incluimos también frases del tipo:
Ejemplos:
Si fueras más joven, | ¿harías ese viaje? |
(= la persona a quien nos dirigimos nunca podrá ser más joven de lo que es actualmente...) |
(Si yo estuviera) en tu lugar, | no se lo diría. |
(= es verdad que uno nunca será la otra persona, pero aquí se trata de una especie de transposición,y nos referimos a la eventualidad de encontrarnos ante las mismas circunstancias que nuestro interlocutor"...) |
La elección de la forma simple o compuesta del condicional en la segunda parte de la oración, tiene relación con el hecho de que la acción a la que nos referimos tenga una consecuencias y repercusiones hasta el momento actual (condicional simple) o bien que su efecto fue en un momentopuntual del pasado (condicional compuesto):
Ejemplos:
Si condujeras con más prudencia, | no tendrías tantos accidentes. |
(= en general tiene muchos accidentes) |
Si condujeras con más prudencia, | no habrías tenido este accidente. |
(= se refiere a un accidente puntual) |

CONDITIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE SECOND KIND: THE CONDITION "probable" or "UNREAL"

This conditional structureshown in the following form:

IF + imperfect subjunctive simple conditional
made conditional

Examples:
If you have a car,
(Imperfect subjunctive)

make that trip.
(Conditional simple)

If you did your job well,
(Imperfect subjunctive)

should not watch you constantly.
(Conditional simple)

If I earned more money,
(Imperfect subjunctive)

could have bought a new car.
(Conditionalcomposite)

If I spoke better English,
(Imperfect subjunctive)

would not have needed an interpreter.
(Conditional composite)

We call "likely" to this type of condition, although in principle it is not nothing that can not be satisfied, which is highly hypothetical, it is true that at the time the talk is not yet a reality, but there is nothing that, in principle, can stop this conditionis met.

Example:
If you were President, Pedro would lower taxes.

(Indeed, according to the law or the Constitution, nothing prevents Pedro being President, but for now is not the case ...)

We also discussed condition "unreal" because under this structure also include phrases such as:
