Alausí is a canton in the province of Chimborazo in Ecuador. It is situated at an average altitude of 2,340 meters. The lowest level of the canton is 1,225 meters, in the parish Huigra and most arelocated 3,340 meters above sea level in Achupallas.

San Pedro de Alausí is the capital of Canton Alausí, is located in the westernmountains.

It was founded on June 29, 1534 and is considered the first settlement was in the Royal Audience of Quito.
