Examine one of the issues raised in the talk on public health, its causes and possible solutions
Examine the issue about smoking on public health, its causes and possible solutions“Tobacco is the only legally available consumer product which kills people when it is entirely used as intended”

Smoking remains one of Scotland’s most significant public health concerns and one of the biggest threats to public health. Because of number of deaths a year, smoking implicated as a hugefactor in different diseases as cancer, stroke or coronary heart disease.
The Scottish Government (2010, p116) has been estimated that “around 13,500 deaths a year are attributable to Smoking, arounda quarter of all deaths in Scotland.” And a recent article on the subject (the Ash Scotland, (Organization) 2010) indicated that “35 People in Scotland die every day as a result of tobacco-relatedillnesses”. These show that the issue about smoking is very important in Scotland, that’s why it is necessary to explain the social causes, economic causes that affect people who smoke and other peoplewill be exposed of the danger of smoking and all the risks, particularly diseases and all the repercussions on the public health. To finish with the possible solutions as ban on tobacco advertising andban of smoking in public area in order to fight against this problem.

CAUSES
Smoking it is an addictive practice which the causes are essentially social. Especially young people aged 16-24 havebeen concerned by this crucial problem , that is why the Scottish Government and the NHS National Health Service for Scotland would fight against it. Most of the time, the period from age 16 to 24involve a significant change in their life, in terms of social group.
