All businesses have a life cycle, they are created, the have a stage of growing, after they reach the maturity of the business and finally thecompanies fall into decline, the idea is to know how to maintain the organizations far of the last stage of the life cycle, for this is important to take all the opportunities given in themarket.
Usually companies are focus on make the best product in the market, but even more important than the product is the satisfaction of the customer, companies has to know where the real needsand wants of their customers are, so the mistake is the definition of the main objective of the firm.
Some examples are the rail roads and Hollywood business, the railroads for example had ashis main objective just to be in the railroad business but not in the transportation business so they were bad focus on the real needs of their customers, at the other hand Hollywood definedhis business in just make movies when the real objective had to be actually the entertainment business, these examples show the importance of put attention in the customers in order to besuccessful and to maintain in the maturity of the business.
To avoid the decay of the organizations is necessary to take into account the factors that drive industries to the decline, one of thosefactors is the idea that the population growth and the increase of the purchasing power guarantee also the growing of the company, the organizations consider that if the population is bigger themarket to sell their products is bigger too, so they focus on the most efficient way of producing their products but not in the way of make them better to satisfy the needs of the customers.
