The Box Man

The Box Man, an article written by Barbara Lazear, is about people whoare homeless, and they do not care about, so they feel happy. The article makes a comparison between some homeless and people who have home. The first ones, do not careif they do not have material things. The second ones, who have it all, but they fell thirsty, and they have not found the sense of the life. In the article, threepeople are mentioned: The Box man and two women. The Box Man is a kind of person with no home, no child, and no material possession, even though he fells happy and enjoyhis life, as much as he could do it. The first woman has enough money, but she lives a routine, her life is so boring, and she seems so lonely. The second woman, whois a lonely person, too, has only six cats and her life is extremely boring.

I feel that the author is right because homelessness is a situation which you do nothave home and family but you can be happy. I feel emotion with the content of the text because it makes me remember some people in Dominican Republic who are homelessand they are actually thirsty. I also feel resigned with God because he has given me a home and a sweet family.

I think that author feels a little happy and resignedwith the homelessness, she thinks that happiness does not depend on the material possession that you have. Two sentences in the paragraph which helps me to support myideas are: “We might as well draw the night around us and find solace there and a friend in our own voice”, “One could be worse than be a Collector of Boxes”.
