Internal Organs

Brain: an organ of soft nervous tissue in the skull, functioning as the coordinating center of sensation, intellectual and nervous activity.
Brain stem:the central trunk of the brain, consisting of the medulla oblongata, pons, and midbrain.
Neuron: a specialized cell transmitting nerve impulses.
Heart: a muscular organ that pumps the blood throughthe circulatory system by rhythmic contraction and dilation.
Aortic arch: One of a series of paired arteries in a vertebrate embryo that connects the ventral arterial system to the dorsal arterialsystem.
Trachea:  the membranous tube, reinforced by rings of cartilage, conveying air between the larynx and the bronchial tubes.
Lungs: organs within the ribcage into which air is drawn in breathing,so that oxygen can pass into the blood and carbon dioxide is removed.
Esophagus: the part of the alimentary canal which connects the throat to the stomach.
Stomach: an internal organ in which thefirst part of digestion occurs, being a pear-shaped enlargement of the alimentary canal linking the esophagus to the small intestine.
Small intestine: the part of the intestine that runs between thestomach and the large intestine.
Colon:  the main part of the large intestine, which passes to the rectum.
