THE KING’S SPEECH

This English film was made in 2010, based on the real life. It’s a historic and biographic drama. It was directed by TOM HOOPER. The main actor are COLIN FIRTH (first Albert theDuke of York and then King George VI) and GEOFFREY RUSH (the speech therapist) and the actress is HELENA BONHAM CARTER (the Duchess of York and then the Queen).

The story is about a problem thatthe Duke of York has, the stutter or a speech defect, and the process to resolve it.

1º) It begins when Albert (the Duke) try to speak in a closing ceremony and making the speech a complete disaster.He cannot say two words together. He visits a lot of doctors but they can not help him.
So, his wife looks for other alternative and she finds Lionel Logue, a special and eccentric Australian man.Albert and her wife go to visit him, and in that visit, Lionel put headphones in his ears with music and Albert begins to read. He read without mistakes, but he can’t hear himself. This method doesn’tlike to the Duke and he goes to leave the room… Lionel gives him the record of his voice.
Later, Albert listens to the record and he discovers that the method of Lionel can work. In this moment hebegins to have hope (tener esperanza).

2º) Albert uses the technique of Lionel with unconventional methods (métodos poco convencionales). Little by little, they go find some phychological reasons(motivos psicológicos), for example: the strict education, a terrible fear (miedo) to the opinion of his father or brother…
The dead of his father makes his brother comes to the throne (trono) with thename of Edward VIII.
The king laughs at his brother stuttering with his friends and Wallis, and Albert thinks that Lionel is to blame (tener la culpa de)for his failure (fracaso).
However, a yearlater, the King Edward VIII wants to marry with Wallis Simpson, a divorced three times. If he marries with Mrs Simpson, he will have to leave the throne for political and religious reasons. Edward...
