The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe

Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie are four siblings sent to live in the country with Professor Kirke during World War II. Thechildren go around the house to explore it on a rainy day and Lucy, who is the youngest, finds a wardrobe in a room with nothing else in it. Lucy steps inside and finds herself in a cold, awkward andsnowy wood. She encounters a faun there named Mr. Tumnus and he invites Lucy over to his cave for tea. The have a wonderful time together but at the end of their engagement, Mr. Tumnus breaks downcrying explaining to Lucy that he was going to take her prisoner and hand her over to the evil White Witch. The Witch has made all of Naria an eternal winter and has told the Faun to take captureover humans. The faun likes Lucy so much that he does not take her captive and walks her back to the lamp post where she had came from. Lucy goes back into the “real” world and proceeds to tell hersiblings about the adventure she had just had but they do not believe her and Edmund, her brother, teases her in a very mean manner. One day when Lucy is hiding in the wardrobe and she is taken to Nariaand Edmund follows her in and is taken as well. He meets the White Witch there and she cons Edmund with Turkish delight to bring back his three other siblings. Edmund is so infatuated with theTurkish delight that he agrees. Edmunds gluttony and greed are the cause of not telling the others that he was in Naria with Lucy after he left the Queen. One day all four children are hiding in theroom and all step in the wardrobe and find themselves in Naria. Lucy leads them to Mr. Tumnus house and finds that the White Witch had captured him. A bird leads them to Mr. Beavers house who proceedsto tell them about Aslan, king of Naria. The children feel once again safe but Edmund sneaks away to the White Witch to warn her of Aslans and the children’s arrival. The Queen wants to avoid the...
