Thomas EdisonThomas Alva Edison was an American inventor and businessman. He spent all his life investigating about electricity. As a result, he patented more than one thousand invents, and hewas one of the most important man in creating and innovating in technology. Therefore, he could be considered one of the technology’s fathers.
Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio in 1847 andhe died in 1931 in New Jersey. He grew up in Port Huron. His schooling was a bit special that he was only three months at school and then he left it because his teacher considered him as“unproductive” child. Consequently, her mother decided to teach him in her home. Her mother’s education was based on some books such as R.G.Parker’s School of Natural Philosophy based on pedagogical aspects thatsupports revolution in physics, imagination and entailed with science. Unfortunately, during his childhood he suffered hearing problems and consequently he was deaf.
He got married with Mary Stilwell whowas 16 years old and they had three children. Unluckily Mary Stilwell died when she was still young and he got married with Mina Miller who was Lewis Miller’s daughter, an inventor.
Referring to hisprofessional job, firstly, he started working as a newspaper’s seller in a train but as soon as he could, he gained a good job. At the age of 20, Edison got a job in Western Union Telegraph and hebecame skilful to the point that he worked in different cities such as Boston, New York, Indianapolis, Louisville and Cincinnati. He was very ambitious and competitive, he wanted to learn more and moreeveryday and in his house he was always surrounded by chemical books and experiments.
