The song I chose to analyze is “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley & the Wailers. It is the fourth track on side twoof their album Exodus Produced in 1977 with others songs like jamming, one love or natural mystic. The song “Three little birds” was released as a single in 1980. The song has been covered bynumerous others artists. One of the most notable covers was by British singer Connie Talbot, whose version reached number one on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart in 2008.

Duringseventies, Bob Marley had left Jamaica to find refuge in England. The context in which was written the song is, in the world: the cold war. Which was, a continuing state of political and military tensionbetween the powers of the Western world, led by the United States and the communist world, led by the Soviet Union the major event was the conference of Helsinki at this period. The mains tensions werethe Vietman war, the first energy crisis in 1973 and the second in 1979. The Kippour’s war between Israel, Egypt and Syria in 1973 too. Then, the conflict context in Jamaica with the prime ministerMichael Manley (1972-1980), who set a curfew and built the Gun Court in 1974. At this period there was a lot of violence because of political context especially.
The context of “The little birds” isfull of economic, political and cultural tensions all over the world.

In the first verse lyrics give hope, he tells us about “Three little birds” whose on the doorstep are singingsweet songs, songs he named: “melodies pure and true”. These Three birds said to him in the refrain that he didn’t have to worry about anything because everything is going to be all right. Rise up thismorning
 he Smiled with the risin' sun, lt was a beautiful day.This is just a mellow and happy song.
