Animals in danger of extinction
The white tiger also called the Bengal tiger is one of the animals that is becoming extinct very fast. This beautiful animal is very rarely seen inthe wild most of them are now in the zoo.
The white tiger is about 3 meters long and weighs approximately 180-285 kg (400-569 LB). It is a very big animal. Statically they are verybeautiful they have blue eyes, a pink nose, and creamy white fur and stripes, but the strips are more visible in some tigers than in the others.
They are usually found on mainland southernAsia also in central and southern India. White tigers usually stay in an area from about 10 to 30 square miles where there is enough prey, cover or shelter and water to support them. White tigersthat are found in the wild usually live to be about 10 to 15 years while tigers in zoos usually live between 16 and 20 years.
The diet of the white tiger in the wild consists of pig,cattle and deer. Tigers are generally solitary animals, except when caring for their young. Like i mention before those living on islands have almost disappeared, most now live in zoos or specialwildlife parks. White tigers are very rarely found in the wild. In about 100 yeas only 12 white tigers have been seen in the wild in India. At the beginning of this century it is estimated thatthere were 100,000 wild tigers, today the number is less than 8,000. Some fascinating facts about the white tiger is that they are good swimmers, but a very poor climbers, they are slowrunners and they hunt at night.
I think that we should protect more this animal because it is a very rare and beautiful animal that makes no harm and that is some of the exotics things of thisplanet. We should protect our fauna. There should exist more laws that protects these animals from hunters and collectors that put them in cages where they can’t be free and suffer a lot.
