A sentence must express a complete thought and must have a SUBJECT and a VERB.
PARTS OF A SENTENCE.
SUBJECT.
A noun or a pronoun; the person or thing doing the action of theverb.
To identify the subject, first find the verb and ask WHO? or WHAT? The answer is your SUBJECT.
We speak = Nosotros hablamos.
> VERB > speak = hablamos
> Who? = ¿Quienes?
>We = nosotros (SUBJECT)
VERB.
The action of the sentence.
I sing = Yo canto.
DIRECT OBJECT.
The person or thing that receives the action of the verb. It usually follows the verb.
I love mymother = Yo amo a mi madre.
INDIRECT OBJECT.
The person or thing to whom the action was performed.
I sent Lucy a message = Le envié un mensaje a Lucy.
I sent a message to Lucy = Le envié unmensaje a Lucy.
ADVERBS.
The order of Complements is: MANNER (HOW?) - PLACE (WHERE?) - TIME (WHEN?).
To remember them, notice that the first letters are in alphabetical order (Manner - Place -Time).

FREQUENCY ADVERBS AND ADVERBIAL PHRASES.
They are used to say how often (con qué frecuencia) something happens. The mostimportant are:
Never = nunca.
Hardly ever = casi nunca.
Seldom = rara vez.
Rarely = rara vez, pocas veces.
Occasionally = de vez en cuando.
Sometimes = a veces.
Regularly = con regularidad.Often = a menudo.
Usually = normalmente.
Normally = normalmente.
Generally = generalmente, en general.
Frequently = frecuentemente.
Always = siempre.
They come before the main VERB:
Wenever arrive late = Nunca llegamos tarde.
But the come after the VERB TO BE:
She is always complaining = Siempre se está quejando.
