Museum of Jewish Heritage

When I went to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, I learned many things. Jewish people had a bad time during thedictatorship of Hitler in Germany in 1939. Jews were mistreated and discriminated against. Hitler was a tyrant, a person without heart. He thought thatkilling Jews might improve the economy in Germany. Hitler said that all the Jewish men had to take the name of “Israel,” and all the Jewish womenhad to take the name of “Sara.” Hitler did this to indentify who was Jewish although he said that all Jews had a big nose, and for that reason hecould know who was Jewish or not.
The museum had a lot of things that surprised me. One of the things was that I could see how Hitler told liesto Jews saying that they could escape. The only thing that they had to do was take a train and go away. But the train was a trap. When the Jews tooka train and escaped, a few minutes later the Nazis stopped the train, and they killed all of them. Also, another thing that surprised me was thatJewish parents sent their children to England to save them, but the children had to go alone because the British government said that it would onlyreceive children. Their parents had to stay in Germany.
This trip to the museum was great for me because I learned things that I didn’t knowbefore and it also helped me because I like history, and I was interested in Hitler’s life. I wanted to learn more about Hitler and the Nazis.
